Security and Data

What happens to your meter data: which data we need, how it is transferred and who can access it.

Before you share energy data, your IT and data protection teams will have questions. Here are the answers to the most common ones.

How we handle your data

Only what the analysis needs - meter numbers, sites and consumption values. Meter data from commercial and public buildings usually contains no personal data.
Hosting - the kWIQly analytics platform and your data run on servers in London, United Kingdom. This website is hosted in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Encrypted connections - files reach us over encrypted connections such as SFTP. The platform is only reachable over HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or 1.3, and browsers are instructed never to fall back to unencrypted connections (HSTS).
Individual logins - every user at your organisation gets a personal account through our central sign-in service. No shared passwords.
Data processing agreement - customers of the analytics platform receive a separate agreement on how we process their data.
One purpose - we use your data to analyse your portfolio. We do not sell energy or hardware, so there is nothing else we want to use it for.
Non-disclosure agreement - on request, we sign an NDA before you share any data.
Deletion - when our collaboration ends, we delete your data within 14 days.
